Manuel Bandeira
Pão de Açúcar
Bandeira does not have a defined style and is not concerned with having one. His products always reflect the search for a coherent design, be it from the formal, functional or constructive point of view. ‘I do not seek an aesthetic result. It appears from an equation involving the constructive process, its use and my fantasy. As a formula for his creations,he combines simplicity and practicality resulting in forms expressing his life experience. Bandeira’s confessed influences are his passion for sailing boats, and his admiration for Marcel Duchamp and Achille Castiglioni. With seductive, provocative and refined designs, Bandeira attributes new values to traditional products, or simply teases us by questioning certain habits or manners.
